➡️ In Dynamics 365 Business Central, Shop Calendars and Base Calendars (often referred to as Service/Location Calendars) are used to manage Operational Time, but they serve different purposes.
✅ [1] "Shop Calendar" : Shop Calendar (Manufacturing Setup).
Used in manufacturing to define working hours, shifts, and holidays for Work Centers and Machine Centers, driving Production Scheduling.
✅ [2] "Base Calendar" : Used in Supply Chain and Service Management to define working days for vendors, customers, and locations, affecting Delivery Shipment and Receipt Date Calculations.
🖍️A Shop Calendar defines the Capacity of Production Resources by specifying the standard work week, shifts, and holidays.
✔️(a) Setup: Search for Shop Calendars, create a New Code, and define Working Days with start/end times and shift codes.
✔️(b) Holidays: Use the Holidays action to define Non-Working Days.
✔️(c) Application: Assign the Shop Calendar code to a Work Center or Machine Center.
✔️(d) Calculation: The Work Center Calendar must be calculated (using the Calculate action on the Work Center card) to generate the capacity data for production scheduling.
